Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs
Narrator: Once upon a time
there lived a King and a Queen. One day the Queen gave birth to a baby daughter
whose skin was as white as snow, and whose cheeks were bright red. She called
her little girl Snow White. Unfortunately, soon after that, the Queen died. A
year later the King married again.
Snow
White: My stepmother is beautiful but cruel and bad. Do
you know that? She always asks her magic mirror: “Who is the most beautiful
lady here?” And the mirror says: “You are, my dear. Oh, I keep silent … she’s
coming here.”
Stepmother:
Where is my mirror?
Snow
White: Here it is. Take it, please.
Queen: Mirror, mirror,
on the wall,
Among the ladies in this land,
Who is the fairest of all?
Mirror: Among the grown-up ladies tall,
You, oh Queen, are the fairest of all.
Yet the truth I must tell you and so I do
vow,
That the child Snow White is lovelier than
you.
Queen (calls one of her huntsman): Take this child away, deep into the forest and kill
her, for I can no longer bear the sight of her!
Snow White:
It is so dark in the wood, you see…
But there is a house
under a tree.
It is very warm and good.
Such a nice house in the
wood! (She comes up to the table)
What a nice table and
small plates
I see a tea, pot and tasty cakes.
I want to sit (sits down
on a small chair)
I want to eat (takes a
cake).
I want to sleep (is falling asleep
just at the table).
The song of the dwarfs:
We dig dig dig dig dig dig dig
In our mine the whole day through
To dig dig dig dig dig dig dig
Is what we really like to do
It ain't no trick to get rich quick
If you dig dig dig with a shovel or a pick
In a mine! In a mine! In a mine! In a mine!
Where a million diamonds shine!
We dig dig dig dig dig dig dig
From early morn till night
We dig dig dig dig dig dig dig
Up everything in sight
We dig up diamonds by the score
A thousand rubies, sometimes more
But we don't know what we dig 'em for
We dig dig dig a-dig dig
Heigh-ho... Heigh-ho...
Heigh-ho... Heigh-ho...
Heigh-ho...
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
It's home from work we go
(Whistle)
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
It's home from work we go
(Whistle)
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
(Whistle)
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho hum
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
It's home from work we go
(Whistle)
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
It's home from work we go
(Whistle)
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
It's home from work we go
(Whistle)
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho,
Heigh-ho, Heigh-ho (until fade)

Who are you, little girl?

Sneezy:
Let’s live together!
Doc:
In any weather!
Happy:
And work in the forest every day.
Bashful:
But now let’s play!
Narrator: She was very
happy living with the dwarfs. Every evening when they returned home, she had
supper ready for them and the house was neat and clean. Meanwhile the Queen,
believing Snow White to be dead, was quite happy in the thought that she
herself was the most beautiful lady in the world.
Queen: Mirror, mirror,
on the wall,
Among the ladies in this land,
Who is the fairest of all?
Mirror: You, oh Queen,
are exceedingly fair
But the truth I must tell you and this I
do swear,
Snow White is not dead but living still,
In a little house far over the hill;
And though you, oh Queen, are certainly
fair,
This child’s great beauty does make her fairer.
Queen: (her anger is great): I’ll find
Snow White and kill her myself.
(Thinking a
little) I have a plan.
(Snow
White is sweeping the floor near the table, singing “Heigh-Ho…”)
Stepmother:
“What a wonderful song I hear! Take this beautiful apple, my dear. It’s red and
green and very sweet. Please, begin to eat…”
(Snow
White bites the apple and falls a sleep. The stepmother picks up the apple and
goes away. The dwarfs come back home singing their song and having spades and
axes in their hands)
Doc
(coming up to Snow White): Oh, brothers I’m so sad… Look, she is dead.
Dopey:
Let’s take her there under the tree.
Grumpy:
Somebody’s coming here. Do you see?
Prince:
Hello! I’m Prince. In daytime and at night I’m looking for Snow White. But
can’t find her anywhere. Oh, tell me, please, who is sleeping there?
Dwarfs:
Our Snow White. She is dead. We are very sad. (They weep).
Prince: I
am your Prince, Snow White, get up, my dear. Open your eyes…do you hear?
Snow
White: Thank you, Prince. Your love made me alive.
Prince: I
am so glad you didn’t die!
Snow
White: Let’s go to the dwarfs, my little friends. They like
such happy ends!
Dwarfs:
Will you marry her?
Prince:
Yes, I shall!
Dwarfs:
All is well that ends well.
The
song.
